This was the first song I wrote for Skull Puppies, and I think it shows how excited I was to be able to make more racket than I could performing as the solo acoustic act 'Sleepwalk'. Now that Chris and Ryan were playing lead guitar and drums it was much easier to cut loose.

The song is about much the same stuff I tackled in the acoustic project, of course - being swept up in romantic ideals, possessed by limerence, knowing you're not good enough for your crush etc. But tonally, the edge is more "yeah but fuck it" than "poor me", which was an infectious stance to be taking on stage all the time during this post-abusive-relationship period of my life.

When we used to play regularly, folks at our home shows would always shout the 'fuck you' near the end in unison, and I loved how such an aggressive statement could be laced with such kindness and catharsis. It was like we were all there to drag out our demons and shout them down together. So thank you, and fuck you, to everyone who came to those shows.
